Dr. Alard von Rohr

A law graduate from the University of Tübingen, Munich and Geneva, Dr. Alard von Rohr was General Secretary of Opera at the Deutsche Oper Berlin during 1981 - 1990 and Director of Opera at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as well as Deputy General Director for all artistic affairs from 1990 until 2000. Subsequently, in 2000, he served as State Secretary for Culture in Berlin.

Since 2003, Dr. Alard von Rohr has been managing director of A-Pro Just Classics! GmbH, an agency for the conception and organization of major classical music events and the promotion of international stars such as Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Jessye Norman, Lang Lang and Rolando Villazón.

Since 1994, Dr. Alard von Rohr has also been the artistic director of the Festive Opera Galas of the German AIDS Foundation at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and Oper Bonn.
In parallel, Dr. Alard von Rohr has been a member of juries of national and international vocal competitions since 1982, among them the Competizione dell' Opera, the Geneva International Music Competition, the George Enescu Singers' Competition in Bukarest, the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang in Berlin, the International Singing Competition in Bilbao, the Belvedere Competition and the International Singing Competition of Paris, among others.
